GLASSRESQ as a VBZ task force

Zurich’s public transport operator, Verkehrsbetriebe Zurich (VBZ), enlisted GLASSRESQ as the perfect task force for damage that needs to be repaired quickly. The windows on the Cobra trams are repeatedly graffitied by vandals or marked with grease and negative symbols. Accidents can also result in damage. Any damage to the glass must be dealt with quickly, so that the vehicle can get back on track as soon as possible. Working as an active partner of the City of Zurich, GLASSRESQ provides this service within 24 hours. “I have to say, we’re very impressed”, said Hansjörg Fink, Director of the VBZ’s Tram Maintenance department.

Restoring complex specialist panes for StadlerRail

The order from Swiss locomotive manufacturer StadlerRail was challenging, to say the least. A successful international enterprise, StadlerRail had a problem: factory-caused damage to locomotives scheduled for delivery in the USA. The damaged panes were expensive, complex special heat-resistant glass. The work would need to be accurate and careful. In addition, it was essential to comply with stringent standards and glass guidelines. After a successful trial, GLASSRESQ completed the restoration to the full satisfaction of StadlerRail.

Glass restoration maintenance contract with the Deutsche Bahn

German railway operator Deutsche Bahn AG trialled a total of six different glass restoration companies before declaring the innovative GLASSRESQ technique the final victor. Our winning combination of high quality, cleanliness and speed ensured the graffitied train windows were fully restored and repaired within a very short time. The director of Deutsche Bahn’s maintenance centre was delighted – and not just because all safety regulations had been followed to the letter. Following this successful trial contract, Deutsche Bahn made the decision to complete a maintenance contract with GLASSRESQ.

On track against glass vandalism with the SBB

The SBB struggles with vandalism at its headquarters in Bern and numerous other SBB railway stations. The problem is obvious – but initially there was considerable scepticism about GLASSRESQ’s glass surface restoration services. Was it actually possible, wondered the SBB decision-makers in the Buildings and RailClean department, to restore damage as extensive and conspicuous as this? They decided to give us a trial. The final results did more than just convince them it was possible – they found themselves really impressed.
The directors of Buildings and RailClean were delighted by the speed of the service, as well as the environmentally friendly results and the huge cost savings. Hans-Peter Meier, head of Buildings at SBB: “Incredible, what these GLASSRESQ wizards have achieved”. Further work is under discussion, including Zurich’s main station, and a permanent maintenance contract with GLASSRESQ is being set up.
